11/3/22: BAPTISM BY FIRE – 100 SECONDS ‘TIL DOOMSDAY W/ DAVID KNIGHT

Posted on November 3rd, 2022 by Clyde Lewis

We are closer to world war than ever as Europe is about to implode while the Middle East and Pacific Theater are about to become battlefields once again. The whole world is going to feel the pain of the so-called Baptism by Fire as we prepare for the Winter of Discontent. And when we turn back our clocks this weekend, remember that we should also think about turning back the Doomsday Clock. Tonight on Ground Zero, Clyde Lewis talks with geopolitical analyst, David Knight about BAPTISM BY FIRE - 100 SECONDS undefinedTIL DOOMSDAY.

SHOW TRANSCRIPT:

In three days, we are supposed to turn back our clocks — a ritual that we do every year, and every year there is a proposal to stop this insanity. However, there is another clock on the minds of people these days and that is the Doomsday Clock has been created by the leaders of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.

The clock has been an indicator of how close we are to a nuclear doomsday. People have been asking me lately what the status of the clock is — and I think the last time I heard about it was at 100 seconds to midnight. But that was nine months ago.

Things have changed and this is why, I think, people are wondering if the whole Russia/Ukraine war has pushed us closer to the possibility of nuclear fire.

The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists unveiled the resetting of the Doomsday Clock on January 20th, 2022, electing to keep the clock’s setting at 100 seconds to midnight, same as 2021, which is not at all encouraging since that’s as bad as the setting has ever been.

So now with all of the activity pushing us closer to war — are we so far gone that the clock will say five minutes after midnight?

It is quite ironic, actually, that one of the reasons the clock was moved so close to midnight in the first place was not just because of the nuclear question, but because of climate change, COVID-19 and how the scientists felt about the stability of Donald Trump.

They officially were pushing the clock closer to midnight because in their words:

There was concern specifically regarding: (1) nuclear and biological weaponry, (2) climate change/global warming, and (3) disruptive technologies exacerbated by an over-the-top, in their words: “Corrupted information ecosphere that undermines rational decision making.”

Well now the clock has to change — and this time it will obviously not be for the better.

The past few resets of the clock have essentially been SOS signals to world leadership to get its act together or suffer horrendous consequences.

The Doomsday clock was initially set at the dawn of the Cold War at seven minutes to midnight in 1947. Subsequently, its best (most promising) level was 17 minutes to midnight in 1991, following the fall of the Soviet Union, widely considered the end of the Cold War.

On August 5th, 1963, President Kennedy, along with the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union, signed the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, allowing the Doomsday Clock advisory committee to take a deep breath, Whew!

This was a success — and now look at where we are. We have turned time backward. We are back where we started — and as I said, the Clock may not bode well when they change it.

The Chicago Atomic Scientists group that developed the first atomic weapons in the Manhattan Project founded the organization in 1945. The midnight hour of the clock is the metaphoric imagery of the apocalypse with its target at 24:00 hours, now only 100 seconds away, symbolic of an impending nuclear explosion countdown. The famous clock is located in the lobby at the Bulletin Offices of the University of Chicago.

Accordingly, the clock shows how close… “we are to a civilization-ending apocalypse because the world remains stuck in an extremely dangerous moment. In 2020 we called it the new abnormal, and it unfortunately persisted.”

Now the clock has never been so close to doomsday — in fact think about it — we are a 100 seconds til doomsday.

The Doomsday Clock was designed to warn the public about how close we are to destroying our world with dangerous technologies of our own making. The final 100 seconds doesn’t leave much room for error.

The scientists have now hinted at where the clock is heading by saying “The threat is serious, the time is short.”

New weapons systems under development are much more effectively dangerous. The Biden administration is expanding upon its confrontational style against Putin. We are seeing threats against Saudi Arabia. North Korea has fired more than 20 missiles toward Japan and Hawaii.

Saudi Arabia has shared intelligence with American officials that suggests Iran could be preparing for an imminent attack.

The heightened concerns about a potential attack on Saudi Arabia come as the Biden administration is criticizing Tehran for its crackdown on widespread protests and condemning it for sending hundreds of drones — as well as technical support — to Russia for use in its war in Ukraine.

One of the officials who confirmed the intelligence sharing described it as a credible threat of an attack.

Asked about reports of the intelligence shared by the Saudis, Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder, the Pentagon press secretary, said US military officials are “concerned about the threat situation in the region.”

The Wall Street Journal first reported on the Saudis sharing the intelligence on Tuesday. Iran has alleged, without providing evidence, that Saudi Arabia and other rivals are fomenting the dissent on its streets by ordinary Iranians. Of particular ire is protest coverage by Iran International, a London-based, Farsi-language satellite news channel once majority-owned by a Saudi national.

The US and Saudis blamed Iran in 2019 of being behind a major attack in eastern Saudi Arabia.

The Saudis have also been hit repeatedly in recent years by drones, missiles and mortars launched by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen. Saudi Arabia formed a coalition to battle the Houthis in 2015 and has been internationally criticized for its airstrikes in the war, which have killed scores of civilians.

Meanwhile, The South Korean military said yesterday that  North Korea launched the highest number of short-range missiles in a day as Seoul retaliated to Pyongyang’s latest barrage of weapons tests, further escalating tensions in the region.

North Korea fired as many as 23 missiles of different types to the east and west of the Korean Peninsula, including a surface-to-air missile into the waters off the east and west coasts of the Korean Peninsula, according to the South Korean Defense Ministry.

One of the missiles launched by Pyongyang was a short-range ballistic missile that landed close to South Korean territorial waters for the first time since the division of Korea, Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said.

JCS said the missile landed in international waters 167 kilometers (104 miles) northwest of South Korea’s Ulleung island, about 26 kilometers south of the Northern Limit Line (NLL) — the de facto inter-Korean maritime border that North Korea does not recognize.

Japan’s Defense Ministry said North Korea conducted another launch later on Wednesday, including at least one more ballistic missile toward the east that has fallen into the sea outside of Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone.

The ballistic missile flew a short distance at a maximum altitude of fewer than 50 km, Toshiro Ino, the deputy minister of defense, told reporters on Wednesday evening local time.

A South Korean defense official said earlier that the missiles landed to the west of the peninsula in the Yellow Sea, known as the West Sea in Korea, and to the east in the Sea of Japan, also known as the East Sea.

They’re playing war games on both sides of the North-South line between the two Koreas, coming close to the real thing but stopping short of killing their enemies.

North Korean gunners kept up the barrage today, launching an intercontinental ballistic missile of the sort that could theoretically carry a warhead to the U.S.

The missile did not fly over Japan, as originally feared, but dramatized the North’s strategy of intimidating the U.S. and its two northeast Asian allies, Japan and South Korea, as people in Japan’s northern prefectures were urged to look for shelter. North Korea also fired two more short-range missiles on top of all those fired Wednesday.

With each shot it seemed as though war was edging closer, especially after two North Korean shots made waves south of what’s called the Northern Limit Line below which North Korean ships are banned.

It also appears that Great Britain believes that it would be incapable of protecting itself from the new hypersonic missiles that are in Russia.

Retired Air Marshal Edward Stringer told The Telegraph that the UKundefineds air defenses were limited without a long-range air defense system.

He added that the only way to protect London against strikes by Russian hypersonic or ballistic missiles would be to position a Type 45 destroyer equipped with Sea Viper missiles in the river Thames.

The war is escalating, we are at last counting 100 seconds to doomsday. Still, Americans are not even alarmed.

In early September, we first noticed a wave of discontent sweeping across Europe as tens of thousands of people took to the city streets to protest soaring electricity bills and the worst inflation in decades. Some countries delivered relief packages to citizens to tame the anger, while other countries did not have the financial capacity to hand out checks.

Tens of thousands of people have marched across metro areas in France, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Germany — many of them are fed up with sanctions on Russia that have sparked economic ruin for many households and businesses — but also very surprising, support for NATOundefineds involvement in Ukraine is waning.

There has been increasing awareness and dissent among Europeans about their countriesundefined leaders prioritizing NATOundefineds ambitions in Ukraine over their own citizens. The prioritization has been in the form of sanctions against Moscow, sparking energy hyperinflation and supplying weapons to Ukraine, which has made Moscow displeased with any country that does so. Some Europeans are now demanding NATO negotiate with Moscow to end the war so that economic turmoil can abate.

Worse, the sanctions have sparked a further weakening of the economy where a recession might not be avoided this winter. Efforts by the European Central Bank to rapidly tighten its monetary policy and increase interest rates to quell inflation also have their risks.

The whole planet seems to be enraged.

What is happening is a rebellion against the New World Order. These older countries know what is happening. The United States is oblivious.

The doomsday clock moves forward. Our regular clocks move backward — and our leaders are setting the clocks back to 1986 — but this time, we are to fight a war against Russia and start the domino effect for World War III.

We are learning a very hard lesson and that is Humanity has reached the edge of the abyss because what passes for ‘democracy’ is now empty propaganda. President Biden peppers it in his speeches as a buzzword — hoping that the supporters of his party rally around him, even though he has already proven to be a failed leader.

If you want to give it a true label you can call it destructive democracy.

Inevitably, any deviation from the standard, power-friendly script is immediately pounced upon and the offender berated. This is why the department of homeland security has resurrected its ministry of truth.  This move to curtail misinformation and disinformation needs to be established because in a world war the truth will be a casualty and people will be more apt to call each other traitors or worse, if they do not support the bloodshed.

The thought police and truth cops will be in hand to weed out those who wish to use their free speech. I am sure that eventually sedition laws will be reinstated.

Behind closed doors, and through pressure on private platforms, the U.S. government has used its power to try to shape online discourse.

Though DHS shuttered its controversial Disinformation Governance Board, they are still demanding that platforms get used to being spied upon by the government curtailing free speech.

DHS plans to target inaccurate information on “the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic and the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines, racial justice, U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the nature of U.S. support to Ukraine.”

Facebook has now created a special portal for DHS and government partners to report disinformation directly.

It is a formalized process for government officials to directly flag content on Facebook or Instagram and request that it be throttled or suppressed through a special Facebook portal that requires a government or law enforcement email to use.

The “content request system” at facebook.com/xtakedowns/login is still live/

In more and more cases, the government is declaring war on what should be protected political speech whenever it challenges the government’s power, reveals the government’s corruption, exposes the government’s lies, and encourages the citizenry to push back against the government’s many injustices.

Indeed, there is a long and growing list of the kinds of speech that the government considers dangerous enough to red flag and subject to censorship, surveillance, investigation and prosecution: hate speech, conspiratorial speech, treasonous speech, threatening speech, inflammatory speech, radical speech, anti-government speech, extremist speech, etc.

Things are about to get even dicier for those who believe in fully exercising their right to political expression.

It is hard to believe that this is happening in America. It is hard to believe that there are people out there that still believe that President Biden is a more gentle and fair leader. He has let the security apparatus run amuck in this country. We are closer to world war than ever, and Europe is about to implode. and the Middle East and pacific theaters are about to become battlefields once again.

The whole world is going to feel the pain of the so-called Baptism by Fire.

The current leadership has shown itself to be grossly incompetent and shamefully uncaring about the lives of others. It has also wasted trillions of dollars on unnecessary and terribly destructive military campaigns instead of dealing with looming problems at home.

The US leadership has also needlessly increased tensions by pouring trillions of dollars into a war that seems to be open-ended. The elite US media played a major role in these horrific crimes as it enabled the government’s actions by misinforming the US public.

In other words — the media and politicians have a right to lie and be wrong — but you donundefinedt. You donundefinedt have the right to have an opinion or a speculative idea — the government does this — the media does this — and if you decide it is not true, you will be forced to say that 2+2+5.

The media, and the establishment it serves, do not care about truth or facts.

They tell you that this is about misinformation or disinformation — but it isnundefinedt — it is about controlled information. It is about regulating — even criminalizing — the free flow of ideas and opinions.

It will be applied to the independent media, to alternative and anti-establishment voices, and to the internet.

It is obviously being implemented because the security agencies are preparing for war.

We are becoming an endangered species. Not that we havenundefinedt heard that the culling has begun, but what is most alarming is that people are willingly walking to the slaughterhouse.

I keep wondering how people can be so dislocated from reality not to notice that something is wrong — very wrong. That this should not stand in the United States.

Defying all reason, nations persist in arming themselves for a nuclear war that will destroy virtually all life on earth. Publicly threatening nuclear war and casting aside or rejecting major nuclear arms control and disarmament treaties, the nuclear powers are currently engaged in an extensive nuclear weapons buildup, with the U.S. government alone planning to spend at least $1.5 trillion on this project.

Even if these disastrous developments fail to snuff out the human race, plenty of mass misery can be expected from the rising economic problems brought on by energy depletion and engineered scarcity.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres declared that the world is confronting “the harsh realities of a deeply unequal landscape,” characterized by “a vicious cycle of inequality, frustration, and discontent.”

He even called the coming winter the winter of discontent.

I guess it is getting a little bit annoying to hear someone ask if you are prepared. But truly. Are you prepared? I wonder sometimes if I am prepared enough. It is not just food storage and food supplements that I think about — I think about how I will react mentally and physically to the stress that will most likely affect us all.

Extinction or, at best, mass misery, need not be humanity’s fate. It is now time to find creative ways to fight, have charity in our hearts and be real Americans that stand for our freedom and sovereignty.

When you turn back your clock this weekend — remember that we should also think about turning back the doomsday clock.
