Although the insidious MK-Ultra program involving nonconsensual and invasive human experimentation was officially shut down in 1973, new control mechanisms have emerged such as emotional coercion, gaslighting, and cognitive infiltration. We have become guinea pigs in a ruthlessly calculated, carefully orchestrated, chillingly cold-blooded experiment in how to mentally manipulate a population and advance a political agenda without much opposition from the citizenry. Tonight on Ground Zero, Clyde Lewis talks with author, Elana Freeland and MK-Ultra survivor, Ann Diamond about MK-ALTERED.
There have been throughout contemporary history scores of skeptics and debunkers have tried to silence conspiracy theorists. Many of the so-called skeptics claim to have open minds about some of the conspiracy theories but somehow manage to have on the surface a disdain for what they feel is absurdity and irrationality on the part of those who believe in such things.
Now, it has to be said that there have been many conspiracy theories that remain mysteries with all kinds of dots connecting and lines intersecting that make for compelling discussions.
However, there are at times many observers that will absolutely not allow any talk of conspiracies where the government of the United States plotted and carried out clandestine operations and experiments on its own people.
Well, for those that doubt conspiracy theories, I want to reacquaint you with one theory that has now been revealed to be true.
For 20 years from 1953 to 1973, the American Central Intelligence Agency funded and conducted tests on human subjects, both with and without their knowledge, in an effort to control minds and personalities for the purpose of espionage.
In order to trace the roots of this organized conspiracy, we have to take on a Godwin argument that most certainly has legs. The history of these experiments can be traced all the way back to the Nazi’s that used hallucinogenic drugs to conduct repugnant mind control experiments during World War II.
After dosing the inmates at Dachau with Mescaline and other psychedelics, the Nazis could force their subjects to reveal their most intimate secrets. At war’s end, U.S. Military Intelligence uncovered evidence of the Nazi mind control experiments and rather than calling the deplorable and sadistic, decided to apply them for their own intelligence operations.
By 1953, the CIA’s own massive and notorious mind control experiments were in full swing. Hypnosis and drugs produced the “best” results and the CIA was satisfied that the drug of choice was LSD-25 or Lysergic Acid Diethylamide.
The project was called MK Ultra. The letters MK in the project name referred to the Technical Services Division that oversaw the project and ULTRA was a security classification applied to top-secret intelligence.
The MK Ultra program was first revealed in 1975 during the Church Committee hearings led by Senator Frank Church. The committee is now called the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.
The Church hearings investigated previously unknown and illegal activities of the NSA, the CIA and the FBI, all brought forward by whistleblowers. It is unfortunate that now some people see whistleblowers as traitors and pawns for political agendas.
It is now argued that nothing has changed since 1975 and even though the program was shut down in 1973, it is believed that rogue operatives are still conducting mind control operations and creating sleeper assassins in order to carry out mass shootings and bombings in order to keep The United States in a fit of trauma and terror.
But that is not all there is the theory that we are all being subjected to experimental mind control to create group think. Why isolate on or two informants to do your bidding when you can get a portion on the entire population to fall in line with threats of death, and exposure to violence and terrorism?
Now Mk Ultra mental control can have other names. Maybe you have heard of them– there is emotional coercion, gaslighting, emotional blackmail, and cognitive warfare.
Cognitive infiltration has become an art form turning news into Hollywood drama and putting it on the screen so that we can live it vicariously through CNN. FOX or MSNBC.
It is special melodramatic propaganda that is used to frighten you or persuade you into committing an action you wouldn’t dream of doing.
The New Normal includes electronic brain modification, through algorithms and suggestion.
Never before have we been able to observe the application and effects of these powerful technologies in real time on such a massive scale.
In a little over two and a half years, our collective “reality” has been radically revised. Our societies have been radically restructured. Millions (probably billions) of people have been systematically conditioned to believe a variety of patently ridiculous assertions, assertions based on absolutely nothing, repeatedly disproved by widely available evidence, but which have nevertheless attained the status of facts. An entire fictitious history has been written based on those baseless and ridiculous assertions.
It will not be unwritten easily or quickly.
Many people mistakenly believe that mind control is either a “conspiracy theory” or something that can only be achieved with drugs, microwaves, surgery, torture, or some other invasive physical means. Of course, there is a vast and well-documented history of the use of such invasive physical technologies
In many instances, mind control can be achieved through much less elaborate techniques.
One of the most basic and effective techniques that cults, totalitarian systems, and individuals with fascistic personalities use to disorient and control people’s minds is “gaslighting.”
The main goal of gaslighting is to confuse, coerce, and emotionally manipulate your victim into abandoning their own perception of reality and accepting whatever new “reality” you impose on them. Ultimately, you want to completely destroy their ability to trust their own perception, emotions, reasoning, and memory of historical events, and render them utterly dependent on you to tell them what is real and what “really” happened, and so on, and how they should be feeling about it.
Anyone who has ever experienced gaslighting in the context of an abusive relationship, or a cult, or a totalitarian system, or who has worked in a battered women’s shelter, can tell you how powerful and destructive it is. In the most extreme cases, the victims of gaslighting are entirely stripped of their sense of self and surrender their individual autonomy completely. Among the best-known and most dramatic examples are the Patty Hearst case, Jim Jones’ People’s Temple, the Manson family, and various other cults, but, the truth is, gaslighting happens every day, out of the spotlight of the media, in countless personal and professional relationships.
The gaslighting that is being performed now is a process in which people become humiliated and made to feel inept because the world is changing so fast — that people no longer can keep up with what is called Future Shock.
The powers that be are aware that American citizens, are largely insulated from what is really happening in the world around them by layers of technology, entertainment, and other distractions, and are being programmed to accept the government’s brutality, surveillance and dehumanizing treatment as things that are happening to other people.
The ramifications for the future of civic engagement, political discourse, and self-government are incredibly depressing and demoralizing.
This explains how we keep getting saddled with leaders in government who are clueless about the Constitution and out of touch with the needs of the people they were appointed to represent.
This is also what happens when an entire nation—is bombarded by reality TV, computer algorithms. government propaganda and entertainment news—becomes systematically desensitized and acclimated to the trappings of a government that operates by fiat and speaks in a language of force.
Ultimately, the reality shows, the entertainment news, the surveillance society, the militarized police, and the political spectacles have one common objective: to keep us divided, distracted, imprisoned, and incapable of taking an active role in the business of self-government.
There is also the manipulation and mind control technique known as infantilizing.
If you regularly watch TV, you’ve probably seen a cartoon bear pitching you toilet paper, a gecko with a British accent selling you auto insurance and a bunny in sunglasses promoting batteries.
There are owls selling you glasses, and even a puppet bear telling you that you can borrow 500 dollars from him,
Now, it makes sense to use cartoon characters to sell products to kids – a phenomenon that’s been well-documented.
But why are advertisers using the same techniques on adults?
It is because of mind control that they wish to use to Infantilize the populace.
Our everyday interactions with computer technologies have accelerated and normalized our culture’s infantile tendencies.
The dictionary defines infantilizing as treating someone “as a child or in a way that denies their maturity in age or experience.”
What’s considered age-appropriate or mature is obviously quite relative. But most societies and cultures will deem behaviors appropriate for some stages of life, but not others.
As the Bible puts it in 1 Corinthians 13:11, “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.”
Some psychologists will be quick to note that not everyone puts their “childish ways” behind them. You can become fixated at a particular stage of development and fail to reach an age-appropriate level of maturity. When facing unmanageable stress or trauma, you can even regress to a previous stage of development.
There have been many MK Ultra alters that have taken someone back to their childhoods — and the abuses that they endured.
We see it in our everyday speech when we refer to grown women as “girls”; in how we treat senior citizens when we place them in adult care centers where they’re forced to surrender their autonomy and privacy; and in the way school personnel and parents treat teenagers, refusing to acknowledge their intelligence and need for autonomy, restricting their freedom, and limiting their ability to enter the workforce.
It is also evident in how we infantilize minorities and coddle groups like the handicapped or even individuals in the LGBTQ+ community.
They special status makes them feel entitled and the way they are coddled makes them dependent on their groomers.
But it is another part of the mind control, where we no longer trist our maturity and responsibility and hand it over to perceived authority.
Adults’ failure to reach emotional, social or cognitive maturity is not due to individual shortcomings.
Rather, it is socially engineered.
It is mind control turning an adult into a dependent child.
In many workplaces, managers can now electronically monitor their employees, many of whom work in open spaces with little personal privacy. They give them candy rewards if they succeed and give them similar punishments that they got in Kindergarten if they fail a task.
Much has been written about higher education’s tendency to infantilize its students, whether it’s through monitoring their social media accounts, guiding their every step, or promoting “safe spaces” on campus.
Meanwhile, tourist destinations like Las Vegas market excess, indulgence, and freedom from responsibility in casino environments that conjure memories of childhood fantasies: the Old West, medieval castles, and the circus. Scholars have also explored how this form of Las Vegas-style “Disneyfication” has left its stamp on planned communities, architecture and contemporary art.
We also live in a therapy culture where overzealous counselors are on call for adults that can’t handle sudden trauma or loss.
Most people cope in many ways –but the removal of that responsibility — urging someone to seek therapy and take psychoactive drugs is a form of mind control and infantilizing someone.
It is like when mom gave you a cookie if you di what you are told — but in this case the reward is s drug that will take you out of your pain.
This sometimes why see people who are hopelessly addicted to things like Opiates.
Also our daily interactions with smartphones and social media are so pleasurable precisely because they normalize and gratify infantile dispositions.
They endorse self-centeredness and inflated exhibitionism. They promote an orientation towards the present, rewarding impulsivity and celebrating constant and instant gratification.
We learn the impulse of click and receive, click and receive. Like a monkey or hamster that pushes a lever to be fed, the animals die when the lever is removed.
Social media flatters our need for visibility and provide us with 24/7 personalized attention while eroding our ability to empathize with others.
Whether we use them for work or pleasure, our devices also foster a submissive attitude. In order to take advantage of all they offer, we have to surrender to their requirements, agreeing to “terms” we do not understand and handing over stores of personal data.
Indeed, the routine and aggressive ways our devices violate our privacy via surveillance automatically deprive us of this fundamental adult right.
While we might find it trivial or amusing, the infantilism ethos becomes especially seductive in times of social crises and fear. And its favoring of simple, easy and fast betrays natural affinities for certain political solutions over others.
Also “fact-checks” are also part of the infantilism. They are not meant to convince anyone that anything is true or false. And they are certainly not meant to convince us. They are official scripts, talking points, and thought-terminating clichés for the New Normals to repeat, like cultists chanting mantras at you to shut off their minds and block out anything that contradicts or threatens the “reality” of the cult.
You can present them with the actual facts, and they will smile knowingly, and deny them to your face, and condescendingly mock you for not “seeing the truth.”
We do not want to see ourselves as “deviants” (because we haven’t changed, society has), and our instinct is to reject the label, but that is exactly what we are according to the programmed… deviants.
People who deviate from the norm, a new norm, which we reject, and oppose, but which, despite that, is nonetheless the norm, and thus we are going to be regarded and dealt with like deviants.
Take for example the present and how we have had two years to deal with COVID-19 — we have learned that certain things work and certain things don’t.
But it doesn’t matter, you are told that you still don’t know and that a tripledemic is coming for you and that you need to remask and panic — because you are infantile and can’t figure out what is best for your body. So the urge to follow and expert is a well-programmed result.
They are already cranking up the official propaganda, jacking up the fabricated “cases,” talking about reintroducing mask-mandates, fomenting mass hatred of “the Unvaccinated,” and so on. People’s gas bills and doubling and tripling. The global-capitalist ruling classes are openly embracing neo-Nazis. There is talk of “limited” nuclear war. Fanaticism, fear, and hatred abound.
More reasons to be scared and rely on your technocratic parents that tell you they care about you. That they will reward you for certain behaviors.
The suppression of dissent is intensifying. The demonization of non-conformity is intensifying. Lines are being drawn in the sand. You see it and feel it and hopefully you are smart enough to deprogram and rebel.
We have become guinea pigs in a ruthlessly calculated, carefully orchestrated, chillingly cold-blooded experiment in how to control a population and advance a political agenda without much opposition from the citizenry.
This is mind control in its most sinister form.
How do you change the way people think? You start by changing the words they use.
In totalitarian regimes where conformity and compliance are enforced at the end of a loaded gun, the government dictates what words can and cannot be used.
In countries where tyranny hides behind a benevolent mask and disguises itself as tolerance, the citizens censor themselves, policing their words and thoughts to conform to the dictates of the mass mind.
Even when the motives behind this rigidly calibrated reorientation of societal language appear well-intentioned—discouraging racism, condemning violence, denouncing discrimination and hatred—inevitably, the end result is the same: intolerance, indoctrination, infantilism, the chilling of free speech and the demonizing of viewpoints that run counter to the cultural elite.
As George Orwell recognized, “In times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
In Orwell’s 1984, Big Brother does away with all undesirable and unnecessary words and meanings, even going so far as to routinely rewrite history and punish “thoughtcrimes.” In this dystopian vision of the future, the Thought Police serve as the eyes and ears of Big Brother, while the Ministry of Peace deals with war and defense, the Ministry of Plenty deals with economic affairs (rationing and starvation), the Ministry of Love deals with law and order (torture and brainwashing), and the Ministry of Truth deals with news, entertainment, education and art (propaganda). The mottos of Oceania: WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY, and IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.
Orwell’s Big Brother relied on Newspeak to eliminate undesirable words, strip such words as remained of unorthodox meanings and make independent, non-government-approved thought is altogether unnecessary.
Truth is often lost when we fail to distinguish between opinion and fact, and that is the danger we now face as a society. Anyone who relies exclusively on television/cable news hosts and political commentators for actual knowledge of the world is making a serious mistake.
Orwell understood only too well the power of language to manipulate the masses. He knew too well that if the party tells you that 2+2=5 it is because they have been able to traumatize you enough to believe what your abuser tells you.
No one abuses us more than the media and the government.
