There is an old trick in talk radio that if you want to get the phones to ring say something that is the reverse of what is thought to be true. It is like a talk show host can do a whole show on whether the toilet paper should roll over – or if the reverse or rolling under is preferable.
There is also the question of squeezing the toothpaste tube in the middle of the reverse or flatting it from the bottom up. I was always taught that if you really want calls just say the reverse of agreed-upon reality.
The best way to find an answer to a question on the internet isnundefinedt to ask it. Just post a wrong answer to the question and have people correct you.
If you want to know the secret of long life – just beg to die –and somehow the reverse psychology keeps your heart beating. Oh, the doublethink is enough to make you crazy. Doublethink is an Orwellian term that is the acceptance of or mental capacity to accept contrary opinions or beliefs at the same time, especially as a result of political indoctrination.
The adjective ‘Orwellian’ is so overused mostly because it is so incredibly apt on a daily basis. George Orwell’s basic concept reflects a simple tenet of propaganda: the thing you are hiding is often hidden behind its exact opposite. Orwell expressed this concept in 1984 with the government slogans, “War is Peace,” “Ignorance is Strength,” and “Freedom is Slavery.”
Sigmund Freud evidently suggested something similar about human nature: that to discover our true human nature, we need merely to reverse society’s moral norms: if a commandment forbids adultery, it’s because a lot of people are more likely to want to commit it.
In other words, for both Orwell and Freud, we often disguise what we are doing behind claims that we are doing the opposite. We aren’t committing adultery; we’re practicing fidelity. We aren’t precipitating war; we’re pressing for peace.
We aren’t seeking our own self-interest; we’re doing it all for others.
When applied to U.S. propaganda, the formula is revealing. To discover what your government is hiding, just reverse the media narrative, It is rather difficult to reverse what we are hearing. I mean that would mean that Washington, Ukraine and NATO are the aggressors and Russia may have a reason for doing what they are doing, When the media says there was no coup in Ukraine in 2014 undefined maybe it is the reverse.
If the media calls conspiracy theorists fools undefined maybe we should reverse the notion and listen to othersundefined opinions that are not the popular ones.
If the news networks say that Trump is a monster, it’s likely because those who are telling you this are the monsters. If the mainstream says Global Warming is a dire threat when the temperatures plummet and put the whole country in deep freeze it’s likely because someone left the weather machine on the extreme.
If Freud was correct, then we tend to publicly deny our greatest desires when they run counter to prevailing morality, shielding our base wishes behind a curtain of rectitude, even as we quietly pursue them.
If Orwell is correct then the party will manipulate you by reversing logic undefined it appears to be ubiquitous.
It is Verse and Reverse. and inverted versions of reality for the sake of hiding the dark truths of what motivates government and mankind.
For example, Journalism: the adversarial role of the fourth estate, becomes the adversary of the truth it was intended to protect.
The federal agents entrap citizens in order to protect them.
How about Vaccines that destroy lives to save them?
It is the social justice warriors who legislate the intolerance they seek to eradicate.
It seems to be a socio-political reality that the forcible assertion of one value guarantees a renaissance of its antitheses.
There are people that claim that there are Nazis everywhere and yet their hate and cynicism rivals the fiercest racist or Nazi. Bigotry is allowed as long as the bigot illustrates bigotry we canundefinedt tolerate.
It is all in reverse,
The process of turning a story into its opposite is fairly straightforward. If the U.S. is aggressively violating human rights, the political party that is hijacking the narrative will swear to you that we are pure as the driven snow.
The left is all about equality they tell us undefined but reverse it and we realize that they are speaking from both sides of their mouth.
What this means in practice is switching the roles each of the actors assumes in the narrative. Heroes become villains; villains become heroes; and victims are either genuine victims or villains depicted as martyrs for a righteous cause. This requires a good bit of romanticizing of your side, demonizing the enemy, and eulogizing the victims. And then, as Hitler recommended, keep it simple. Your side wants one thing: peace. Your enemy wants one thing: war. And the victims want one thing: freedom.
In turning the truth around to justify a narrative, it is hard to understand what the truth is.
Upon this foundation, the typical narrative is constructed. We are seeing this now more and more as we have the left controlling the negative and indicating that whatever the party does is great undefined that is American and justified. Wars of aggression, throwing money at a proxy war, starving its citizens and requiring them to get vaccines.
President Bidenundefineds government is romanticized as a virtuous mediator a breath of Fresh air, exactly what leadership should be. Reverse all of this romanticism and you get the truth.
There is no shortage of opportunities to apply the Orwellian label to what is happening. The party will tell you what to think undefined they will tell you that 2 and 2 are 5 -that ignorance is strength and give you an excuse to be fragile and victimized. The reverse is that we are strong and vibrant and can succeed,
We could all could give a master class in self-deception. And there are psychological needs that appear more urgent for us than truth.
It is all about your cognitive resonance- even if the lies we tell ourselves were reversed and the truth be told undefined the anger would be palpable.
This is how this country rolls, though, with Botoxed on-the-air non-news deliverers confused, lusting after Hell-fires in the night, clicking tongues about the most innocuous things, absolute reflections of education – journalism-communications schools – gone really bad at the colleges they supposedly attended.
If it is not a college-trained reporter it is a CIA plant that not only filters information but also bullies and officiates over Social media to filter what information we get.
There are people who now have no problem feeling good and believing in ones tribe. But of course, it is convenient to throw up blinders when things go in reverse and the truth rears its head.
Counter-narratives destabilize our cleanly delineated understanding of the world; they often ostracize us from our peer group; and they threaten our ability to contribute to society in a manner approved of by society.
As we have learned with the Covid-19 pandemic undefined no one likes a rebel who decides to have agency and decides that what is being done is complete overreach. The coercion that people went through was evil, plain and simple undefined but I am sure those who participated in it donundefinedt even have a guilty conscience. But if their souls could be analyzed and the situation was reversed, they would understand the other half.
But ask yourself- Who has time for a reconstruction of one’s worldview, especially if it might lead to social alienation? This is why just throwing facts at heavily propagandized people doesn’t often work. There are other forces in play, which may remind us that politics is often little more than a value-signaling device for human beings.
It is becoming a fashionable cult undefined and both sides are drinking the Kool-aid.
But those of us who know how problematic this is unfortunately settling for doing nothing untoward, recusing ourselves from political debates, and hewing as closely to inoffensive blandishments in our speech as we can.
People get offended at a lot of things undefined and many of the offended are just pretending for effect. If you reverse thru virtue signaling, you will see people with guilt complexes thinking that they need to show their friends how they are above it all.
If you were to reverse the situation the virtue signalers are the ones with more to hide. This is their way to become one with the herd- but they do nothing to benefit society. I wish virtue signaling was called out because it is the most hollow of things to do when people are really suffering and confused. Many are shackling themselves to political groupthink and playing the role of conscientious citizens and philanthropic activists. But reverse it all and we see that no one is that much of a humanitarian- most people are not all that altruistic.

Throwing things in reverse will reveal that most people don’t want intellectual freedom, but rather be told what to believe. Only then will they be happy. Otherwise, we ruin our peace of mind through choice paralysis or some variety of existential angst, or through a lack of religious faith that leaves us with no guiding spirit, light or mythology to keep us in line. Something that keeps us moral and in a state of peace and confidence.
Given all these apolitical factors that inform whether or not one challenges the received narrative, is it any surprise that mental slavery and ignorance are as prevalent today as what Orwell predicted in the book, 1984?
It is common for people to get deeply attached to their beliefs, and form emotional attachments that get wrapped up in their personal identity and sense of morality, irrespective of the facts of the matter. They have so many things that okay a part in their decisions. From patriotism to religious upbringing to political ideology. Their inferred justification is creating cognitive dissonance.
Left unchecked and with the negative thought forms being generated by authorities we can only await the moment when the powder keg will see its spark. Social wars can lead to civil wars and various “mobs” could spring up creating uncontrolled despotism.
People are at a loss as to why people behave in ways that are unconventional. Something within them is being triggered, they sense that they are out of their element, and we all know that a fish out of water cannot be expected to act like a fish.
Our culture tends to marginalize those who express any ideas that indicate mass brainwashing or manipulation is taking place. A secret stronghold that pays no mind to the peaceful teachings that are found in religion and spirituality has molded culture over the centuries.
Cultures all over the planet are encouraging their people to accept domination and manipulation.
It is madness on its face, but then insane people are in charge. In this process, everyone is expendable, friends, foes, and anyone who stands in the way of the new world normal.
Sadly, the United States has become a country of children, Babes in Toyland who never realize that at the end of the plot the gun is reversed and is aimed at them.
Again, the truth is their reversal undefined verse and reverse.
