2/27/23: WILLY WOKE AND THE PROPAGANDA FACTORY

Ron Patton | February 27, 2023

The Cancel Culture is coming after Willy Wonka. Now, the beloved story is about to be tampered with because of “wokeism” – an attempt to sanitize the story so that it will be less insensitive and more inclusive. The latest editions of Roald Dahl’s much-loved children’s books have been altered to remove words such as “fat,” “ugly,” and “mad,” and the Thought Police may consider deleting more. One needs to understand that this is primarily an ideological conflict – a global war for hearts and minds. It is an information propaganda war where there will be one central Ministry of Truth.  Tonight on Ground Zero, Clyde Lewis talks about WILLY WOKE AND THE PROPAGANDA FACTORY.

SHOW PODCAST:

2/27/23: WILLY WOKE AND THE PROPAGANDA FACTORY

SHOW TRANSCRIPT:

Last night I found out that there is still an HBO channel that plays random movies.  It can be a little addictive because they play these films and if you haven’t seen them in a while you actually relax and watch.  I was caught up in the movie, Trading Places with Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy — and then I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the Willy Wonka story that was directed by Tim Burton featuring Johnny Depp as a more awkward and bizarre Willy Wonka.

If you have seen it you know that Depp plays the character as sort of a fragile man-child rather than a more peculiar eccentric like Gene Wilder did in the 1970s.

The Tim Burton version believe it or not is a lot closer to the original material because of the archetype of what the factory truly is and who Willy Wonka represents.   Mr. Wonka was not a kind and gentle candy maker. Wonka was the devil, and his chocolate factory is hell.  Every Child except for Charlie Bucket is a representation of some of the deadliest of sins. Wonka the devil incarnate hands out various punishments with the help of his devilish minions the Oompa Loompas.

He is the representation of Kindlifresser, a symbol of Satan that lures children into temptation and those who are not pure of heart are harmed or killed in various ways.

In the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, Wonka lives in seclusion below the ground and states that “down here, underneath the ground, I’ve got all the space I want.”

Of course, what is “down below” is hell.

There is a similar line given in the Stephen King television movie “It” where Pennywise, a child-eating clown played by Tim Curry speaks to a young boy named Georgie.

He tempts the young boy with a balloon. Georgie knows that he is not to speak to strangers especially clowns that are in storm drains that are below the ground. The clown offers the boy a toy paper boat that Georgie had lost in the storm drain tempting him to join him below. The clown tells the boy that there is also cotton candy and rides and all sorts of fun things down below. Georgie asks the clown. “Do they float?” The Clown says “Oh yes they float and when you are down here with me you will float too.

The clown pulls Georgie into the storm drain and eats the little boy.

Augustus Gloop is the first to fall to Wonka’s temptation inside of the factory. Augustus’s major sin is Gluttony—and he is characterized as a corpulent piggish young boy who eats nothing but chocolate bars. Wonka tells Augustus that everything near the chocolate river is edible. Gloop falls into the river and drowns although the film indicates that he may survive the ordeal. However, in the book Augustus becomes a new confection that Wonka calls Chocolate flavored goop that no one would want to buy.

Veruca Salt’s major sins are greed and envy. She is greedy, demanding, and spoiled. Wonka shows her something that he has that she can’t have a squirrel that can sort nuts. In one film adaptation, it is a golden egg that she wants.

Veruca demands that she wants one as soon as she sees it. When she is denied, she attempts to grab one and falls down the Garbage chute below the factory, another metaphor for hell. Her parents of course follow her right down to her fate and Wonka sees how easily tempted people can be and calmly laughs about the demise of an entire family of what he calls bad nuts or bad eggs.

Then comes Violet Beauregarde, a child who disrespects her parents and has a bad habit of chewing gum. One can only see the gum as a metaphor for other temptations such as drugs or alcohol. Drugs like Methamphetamine, cocaine and alcohol alter the human body and the mind. Wonka offers her a piece of gum that alters her body and she bloats up into a blue ball. He tells her though that he would rather she didn’t take the piece of gum, of course like the devil he offers a bad choice that alters her life forever. Wonka tells the oompa loompas to take her to the squeezing room. As if she will survive the process of being popped and squeezed.

When Mike Teavee is seated in the front of the huge TV set and is told that he can be part of Wonka vision. Mike is fascinated by how the large chocolate bar dematerializes and then winds up on the screen. He wants to be the first kid to teleport and be on television, the only problem is something goes wrong and above the heads of everyone are micro-sized pieces of Mike. Wonka calmly states that he hopes that parts of Mike do not get left behind.

The story ends with Charlie inheriting the factory. Many people believe that it is because Charlie was meek and pure of heart. It is mainly a metaphor for the meek who shall inherit the earth.

Now the beloved story is about to be changed — it is about to be tampered with, because of some sick kind of wokeism –an attempt to sanitize the story so that it will be less insensitive and more inclusive.

The Cancel culture is coming after Willy Wonka.

The latest editions of Roald Dahl’s much-loved children’s books have been altered to remove words such as “fat,” “ugly,” and “mad,” and they are not stopping there, they also may remove words like Crazy, father and mother as well.

Roald Dahl, who died in 1990, is one of the most successful authors of all time. His 43 books — including more than 20 children’s books — have sold more than 250 million copies.

In a note at the beginning of the new editions, , the publisher Puffin books said some text had been rewritten to ensure that Dahl’s books “can continue to be enjoyed by all today.”

The Roald Dahl Story Company, which manages the copyright of Roald Dahl’s books and collaborated with Puffin to update the texts, said that “the irreverence and sharp-edged spirit” of the original books had not been lost.

Puffin and the Roald Dahl Story Company hired sensitivity readers from Inclusive Minds, which calls itself “a collective for people who are passionate about inclusion, diversity, equality and accessibility in children’s literature.”

The word “fat” has been cut from all of Dahl’s kids’ books. So the fat Agustus Gloop, from “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” is now simply “enormous” rather than “enormously fat.” Aunt Sponge, from “James and the Giant Peach”, is no longer “the fat one.”

The publisher has also removed the word “ugly.” Rather than being “ugly and beastly,” Mrs. Twit of “The Twits” is now simply “beastly.” The publisher has also cut terms such as “crazy” and “mad,” which Dahl used on numerous occasions.

Again, all of the purging is an indication of how far we will go in eliminating what Orwell called, Thought Crime.

Klaus Schwab of the World economic forum has stated that it is time to change the narrative and so perhaps it is time to eliminate insensitivity from children’s books — and in the process eliminate archetypes that we respond to as humans.

It appears that we now have a global-thought police with their ongoing efforts to purge society of “insensitivity.” Yes, that’s right, insensitivity. If there is anything the global-thought police can’t stand, it is insensitivity.

Meanwhile, they set a wonderful example of what horrible ways they can kill those who do not agree with them.

Soon it will be a crime to criticize, stereotype or even joke about ethnic or religious minorities, and the physically or cognitively challenged, and alternatively gendered persons, and hideously ugly persons, and monstrously fat persons, and little people.

We should all be aware of manners and ho we treat people but to legislate it and use it as a crime punishable by the court is outrageous.

Now the real problem here is that Puffin Children’s books, the ones that now are more sensitive hired a little clutch of “sensitivity editors” to substantively rewrite his books.

Puffin Books is a children’s imprint of Penguin Random House, a multi-national conglomerate publishing company and a subsidiary of Bertelsmann, a nominally German but in reality global media conglomerate. Penguin Random House is one of the so-called “big five publishers” that control approximately 80% of the retail book market. The other four are Simon & Schuster, Macmillan, Hachette, and HarperCollins.

Together, these five corporate behemoths, with their hundreds of divisions, publishing groups, and imprints (e.g., Puffin Books), control the majority of what everyone reads. Pull a few books off your bookshelves at random and look up the imprints to see how many are owned by one of the “big five” publishers or one of their divisions or publishing groups.

Another thing you may not be aware of is the increasing employment of “sensitivity readers” by these publishing conglomerates and their legions of imprints, and by writers aspiring to be published by these imprints. Writer’s Digest describes their function thus:

“Publishers and authors hire them to basically cancel-proof their books before they hit the street, hoping to head off any misspoken messages . . . hoping to depict peoples in an accurate light when it comes to genre, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and more. Sensitivity edits are a publisher’s or editor’s insurance to protect the reputation and ward off profit loss, just in case, and an author’s attempt to depict characters in an accurate light. Entities purchase a sensitivity read when the writing is outside of their expertise or experience, or they are uncertain they depicted details properly.”

Penguin Random House recommends “authenticity readers” to any of its authors who are “writing outside their personal experience” (i.e., using their imaginations), to prevent them from “perpetuating stereotypes,” or exhibiting their “unconscious or internalized bias” and creating “patterns of harmful representation,” and so on.

If this sounds to you like some kind of creepy, Orwellian-Ministry-of-Truth-type mental control you are correct.

The Roald-Dahl story is being framed as a “woke/anti-woke” culture-war story. It isn’t. And it isn’t an aberration. It’s how the globalists wish to control the narrative and enforce thought crime.

Cultural revolutionaries are hunting down “insensitivity” everywhere. In the arts, schools, TV shows, films, social media, because everyone can agree that abusing people, bullying and other evils is why our way of life is collapsing — to disagree makes you a vicious racist or something worse.

They can use their insensitive labeling, and archetyping, but we cannot judge for yourselves what is acceptable.

One needs to understand that it is primarily an ideological conflict, a global war for hearts and minds. It is an information propaganda war where there will be one central ministry of truth.

We have all been overly informed about this ideological conformity. We all are. You’re probably in favor of many of the “values” it purports to want to promote, anti-racism, equal rights and the traditional liberal agenda.

There is nothing wrong with that — but there is something wrong with legislating it.

There is something wrong with a media stronghold on the opinion that needs to be enforced in order for it to be true.

The establishment wants us to believe that our “trust” in all media and literature  is a vital component of our democracy—and, moreover, that the state can determine which organizations and creators of art and media  is deserving of our “trust.”

But we all know or should know that Democracy places a duty upon us to be fierce critical thinkers. We should never unquestioningly accept anything we are told.

Reading fiction and enjoying the escapism is an indulgence that keeps the very basic systems of gaining knowledge intact.

Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh’s recent investigation, in which he exposes the likelihood that the US government was behind the destruction of the Nord Stream II pipeline, is only available via independent outlets and on his own Substack. Despite this apparently being a story of enormous magnitude, the MSM seems extremely reluctant to bring it to wider attention. You can read about it only in the so-called “alternative media.”

While some MSM outlets report the official denial of Hersh’s piece, none have lent it much credibility, and many have been quick to cast aspersions on Hersh himself. Yes, the old game of attacking the messenger while avoiding the content of the message.

It is fair to say, based on the Hersh article alone, that no one can really verify his revelations in specific regard to Nord Stream II. He presents no evidence other than anecdotal accounts from unnamed sources. But nowhere in the MSM does there appear to be any interest in pursuing the needed investigation that Hersh’s piece demands.

Thus, it remains a piece of fantastic journalism, most notably because the very specific references it makes to orders given and operations undertaken during the BALTOPS22 exercise can be investigated. Detailed questions can be asked of officials. The blanket denials of Hersh’s story and his precise allegations are nowhere near enough to discredit it.

Given all the circumstantial evidence that also points towards US and NATO-aligned culpability, his journalism—a great story—adds real fuel to the fire. This is real investigative journalism. That the story he presents in part reflects his own perspective is irrelevant.

Again the reader is challenged to use objectivity and deep pondering of what the subject matter means in the big picture.

One of the MSM’s main criticisms of the so-called “alternative media” is that it can often be described as activist journalism. This allegation implies that the perspective of the alternative news journalist biases their reporting. But such criticism is itself a deception because all journalism reports from an activist’s perspective.

Especially CNN –and yes it is far more biased towards leftist views than MSNBC — Fox of course leans right — but it appears now to be more focused and centered.  Its hosts certainly are right-wing opinionated, but its news has been overhauled to be more objective, which has faced criticism, from the militant right wing.

Recently, Don Lemon of CNN had to be taken off the morning show to go through sensitivity training because of some disparaging remarks he made about women, and what exactly the “prime” is.

His attempt at criticizing Nicky Haley backfired, leaving his female cohosts looking on with their mouths wide open. Lemon had to apologize for his insensitive comments.

This whole thought policing removes the complexity of what it means to be human.. and this seems to be the objective — and that is to dehumanize us, make us more like machines that don’t think — only react.

State propaganda has been privatized. Governments channel taxpayers’ money to their global corporate partners, which in turn pay the mainstream medias to produce the desired disinformation.

During the pandemic, we saw whole teams of behavioral scientists at the World Health Organization global governance level and in various nations states “use” the Mainstream media  to unethically deploy applied psychology and disinformation to tackle what the establishment and its mainstream media  hypocritically called “the infodemic.”

We are constantly told by the political class that “press freedom” is an essential part of our democracy. If the MSM really were a pluralistic and free media, it wouldn’t be possible to “use” it for propaganda. There would be too many dissenting articles by investigative MSM journalists to maintain a single, uniform narrative across all outlets simultaneously.

Now any dissenting reporter is now called a conspiracy theorist. This is typical of a tyrannical world order that wants a uniform narrative.

The new narrative will be a godsend for the globalists that say that disinformation and dissident voices are what are destroying the stakeholder capitalism they want to employ for the great reset.

Journalism. the arts. music and literature have an unusual capacity to serve as a watchdog over those whose power and position most affect citizens. The Founding Fathers recognized this to be a tool against despotism when they ensured an independent press; courts affirmed it; citizens rely on it.

But we have somehow decided that it is not valuable anymore — that glamor of the mainstream and the lobby for sensitivity is the end all be all for opinion and knowledge.

Can anyone tolerate this? Do we hold the values of a free press and the arts sacred anymore?

Is literature in its original form sacred to anyone?

It is just another way the powers that be can control the past, the present and the future.

Once a generation dies off, there will be an opportunity to change history yet again — and this will be guaranteed as long as we tolerate and allow the reshaping and doctoring of the narrative.

We must continually tell our stories or lose the very foundations of what we believe and care about.

Like it or not, it is our responsibility to think critically about all information, no matter who relays it. This responsibility applies equally to the stories we are fed by the “alternative media.”  This applies to literature, and it is our responsibility to keep it from the narrative thought police — and demand action against the changing of the intent of such stories that make up who we are as a society.

I will be waiting for the bible to go from “In the Beginning” to “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.”

I know it sounds crazy– but is it really?

As for the Roald-Dahl controversy, We will be seeing A-list authors, journalists, and other official mouthpieces of the globalist Simulation of Culture will making a bug stink about the issue for a couple of days, and then Penguin Random House and the other “big-five” publishers will go on “sensitivity-editing,” and “authenticity-editing, “unabated. It will be a forgotten story.

Unedited” versions of Dahl’s classic children’s novels have reportedly been listed for as much as $7,000 on eBay.

We need to ask ourselves why these publishers are aggressively homogenizing mainstream literature.

In the future, it won’t really matter which books you read or TV shows or, movies or even news media because they will all be minor variations of each other that will resemble nothing so much in their utterly soul-deadening, interchangeable blandness as the lobbies of corporate offices continue to demand adherence top their HR violation version of the world.

Changing the meaning of words and cancelling words. Cancel culture. Pitting neighbor against neighbor with a whole variety of issues. Tearing down statues and erasing history. Attacking religion, especially Christianity. Being forced to accept the absurd where a man demands to be incarcerated in a women’s prison. Teaching kids that their country is bad. Accepting post-modernist thinking where facts don’t matter – feelings and perceptions only matter. So much more. What is happening? This is a communist-Bolshevik revolution against the Western countries.

Changing words and the meaning of words changes the meaning of written laws. Using these techniques they say things like bees are fish in california. It is a way to circumvent laws and peoples rights. They have been doing this for a while, but now they put in overdrive.

I personaly know people who like to play word games. They think they are real slick, but its obvious to most that they are making an effort to be deceptive. Its rude and obnoxious behavior, its like politicians and news media personality go to professional A-hole school.

Just because you read it in the alternative media, doesn’t make it true, as I understand that the ,” NEW YORK TIMES,” article that originally reported it was based on anonymous sources, and with no findings of an independent investigation from a highly credible, independent international investigative body, such as ,”Scottland Yard,” or ,”Interpol,” nor a conviction in a court of competent jurisdiction, in which the, said accused got to confront their accuser, and challenge any said, alleged evidence against them, afterall, I don’t think anybody in this audience would want it or have it any other way if it were they who stood accused of such a crime. Would you, Clyde?

Censorship has been ramping up for years. We had to use tape to cover up certain words in books we read to Kindergarteners such as in The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly rhyme: couldn’t read the line “perhaps she’ll die” and couldn’t say old lady! Halloween is not alllowed in public school nor birthday treats. You can’t say “time to line up boys and girls” they suggest other phrases because boys and girls are not inclusive. Talk to teachers and you will be shocked. If you report a student has threatened you, the response is ” learn ways to de-escalate the situation”. The Nazis burned books – today they are being edited. What’s the difference?
