MONOLOGUE WRITTEN BY CLYDE LEWIS
I noticed that in my HBO Max subscription that Bill Maher’s talk show was in my que. I wanted to unwind and watch some Tv and I thought – I have always liked the wit and cynicism of Maher and even though many will say he is too liberal in the room, he does from time-to-time have a moment where he is balanced and informative.
His guest last Friday was Megyn Kelly - he complained about the way her children’s pricey private schools in New York were indoctrinating them with pro-transgender values and anti-white animus. Bill Maher to his credit, agreed with Kelly that matters are getting seriously out of hand, at least when it comes to the anti-white hatred that’s becoming the norm in education.
What was even more surprising was the loud applause his audience gave him after he made his statement.
How strange is it when a liberal audience enthusiastically cheers on a liberal talk show host that for a moment goes off script and shows his disdain for extremists that he claims make him sound more like Tucker Carlson.
For conservatives, nothing that Kelly said about her children’s experiences in New York’s toniest private elementary schools came as a surprise. Kelly said that, while she and her husband identify as “center-right,” she was okay with the fact that the schools were on the left side of the political aisle. That changed, though, when “they went hard left, and then they started to take a really hard turn toward social justice stuff.”
One of the hot-button issues was the schools’ efforts to normalize transgenderism.
Kelly told Maher that, when one of her sons was in third grade – that is, 8 years old, the school “unleashed a three-week experimental trans-education program.”
Not only did the children find it terribly confusing, but Kelly also said that what was going on was more like coercion than teaching tolerance. Thus, she said, “It wasnundefinedt about support — we felt that it was more like they were trying to convince them. Like, come on over.”
The same pressure was applied to her other child who, in kindergarten was made to participate in a class project that saw the children writing to the Cleveland Indians to complain about their mascot. “He’s six,” she said. Can he learn how to spell Cleveland before we activate him?”
That’s when Kelly dropped a line that should be at the forefront of every single parent’s brain as he or she fights the school’s efforts to co-opt American children:
That if anything parents should be the ones to activate their children and not the school.
Maher then chimed in that he’d been hearing from parents – leftist parents – about the relentless anti-white activism the New York schools, both public and private, are pushing.
Maher said: “And this is what I’ve heard from parents – and these are all liberal, by the way – who say, “My kids are not ready to be told they’re white supremacists.” You know, I’m not ready to be told.”
He then commented on a letter that Megyn Kelly said was from the school:
“There’s a killer cop sitting in every school where white children learn. White children are left unchecked and unbothered in their homes,” one sentence starts.
Maher then commented- Well, how old do you have to be before you can just be unchecked and unbothered. You know, what age to you get bothered?
The another sentence:
“I’m tired of white people reveling in their state-sanctioned depravities, snuffing out black lives with no consequences.”
You know, “go reform white kids, as black bodies drop like flies around us by violent white hands.”
Maher dropped the letter in disgust and he said:
“You know, it bothers me so much that I have to be on this side Kelly’s side of this issue. Because I’ve always been a civil rights advocate. You know, don’t make me Tucker Carlson. You’re the f***ing nuts. This is insane.
There are racist problems in this country. But this is hyperbole, and this is making people crazy.”
It was with those words that the amazing thing happened: Maher’s audience applauded even more enthusiastically. Perhaps the reaction from Maher’s audience is telling us that the American people are finally ready to rein them in. After all, a leftist audience realized, as Kelly and Maher did, that the left’s anti-white racism is going to destroy America.
Now that COVID-restrictions are dropping and kids are being encouraged to go back to school I had a discussion with Liam about it.
He told me that he feels like he would be better off if he was homeschooled undefined he says that curriculum at his school is becoming awkward as teachers are pushing their political views in the classroom.
He says it all started when teachers encouraged students to walk out of class in support of Greta Thunberg and Climate activism. While he believes in Climate change –he doesn’t want politics in his education –and he is also animate about not having religion being forced down his throat either – he says school is now a place for indoctrination and not education.
He tells me that school never taught him to start his own shoe business , which he has. School never taught him to build his own computer undefined he was self-taught and he said that socially white kids are being bullied and are being labeled as racist. He says that the label is terrifying and puts a target on you for being beat up by gangs.
He is even encouraging Janine and I to move away from his school district and find a place somewhere in the country – he seriously feels like he needs to hide.
It’s up to the parents, not the schools, to set values for the children – but of course, that’s not how leftist teachers see it apparently.
I think it is about time liberals start tending their radical colleagues that are taking things a bit too far.
But it is not just racism, the gender roles, the pronouns, it is the push to force intolerance to the front of the line by being intolerant.
Hasbro made an announcement about its Mr. Potato Head toy last week that got the attention of social media. They said that they wanted to make a more gender-inclusive toy by dropping the “Mr.” from its brand name and packaging.
Hasbro’s corporate office issued a statement saying.
“Hasbro is making sure all feel welcome in the Potato Head world by officially dropping the Mr. from the Mr. Potato Head brand name and logo to promote gender equality and inclusion.”
On social media, some people took the statement to mean a change to the Mr. Potato Head character. Before long, Hasbro issued a clarifying statement on Twitter saying that the Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head characters would retain their individual courtesy titles.
“Hold that Tot — your main spud, MR. POTATO HEAD isn’t going anywhere!” the company said. “While it was announced that the POTATO HEAD brand name & logo are dropping the ‘MR.’ I yam (sic) proud to confirm that MR. & MRS. POTATO HEAD aren’t going anywhere and will remain MR. & MRS. POTATO HEAD.”
In an email, a spokeswoman for Hasbro acknowledged “there was confusion around the status of Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.”
Personally, I think they suffered enough backlash and so they had to backtrack on their imbecilic announcement.
Mr. Potato Head has been a signature toy for Hasbro since it was introduced in 1952. The company said it was the first toy to be advertised on television.
In the fall, the company will introduce its new “Potato Family Pack” that will encourage children to “create your Potato Head family.” The pack will come with two large potato bodies, one small potato body and 42 accessories.
There is something outrageously moronic over the fact that people are arguing over the gender of a plastic potato – but this is America and the woke culture is obviously making anti rational decisions based on this imposed guilt that is being thrown around with regard to inclusivity.
It is an example of how identity politics and the culture war clash and the propaganda flip is used to make people afraid of their own thoughts and choices.
Last night, I attempted to talk about what the propaganda flip that is underway in this country. This flip has confused many people who voted for Biden and they do not understand how the administration that taught love and equality is going back to the business-as-usual America where the war machine continues, and children remain in cages.
I often stop and wonder why they act so surprised.
For some people, what I was attempting to talk about got lost because some people do not want to hear that while the choice has been made for change with Joe Biden. The change is more of the same old same old and while the Left has got their man the extreme Left is again losing the middle with antics that are ludicrous and embarrassing.
These new social warrior tactics that are being implemented are making neutral journalists and some mainstream liberal pundits sound more like Tucker Carlson.
Extreme left-wing social warriors are determined to sabotage (or momentarily disrupt) what can be seen as classic America, mostly by tricking people into critically thinking about a host of issues that there is no good reason to critically think about.
I am of course referring to the idea that we should be so concerned about equality and gender issues that we need to debate the gender of Mr. Potato head and other issues that there is no conceivable reason to discuss, or debate, or even casually mention.
I will admit that they are distractions but those who are pushing these issues are very serious about them – and this is becoming a nuisance.
Normally these opinions and actions of extremists and rather marginal thinkers wouldn’t amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world, but there’s a war on for the hearts and minds of the people, so there’s no room in their opinion for neutrality.
You cannot tip toe around it any longer – identity politics is becoming a mental disorder and what is happening is a mass psychosis in need of serious discussion.
With these extreme identity politics comes a cowardly mob of upper-class social media addicts, Twitter Nazis who move from discipline to discipline torching reputations, demanding that people should be cancelled, censored, banned and coerced.
The leaders of this new movement are replacing traditional liberal beliefs about tolerance, free inquiry, and even racial harmony with ideas so toxic and unattractive that they eschew debate, moving straight to shaming, threats, and intimidation. They are counting on the guilt-ridden, self-flagellating nature of traditional American progressives, who will not stand up for themselves, and will walk to their oblivion willingly.
They have conned organization after organization into empowering panels to search out thoughtcrime, and it’s established now that anything can be an offense—This is a frightening trend – it is something you can laugh at – but it is no laughing matter especially when action is taken that is similar to what we have seen at Nazi Book Burnings and how the old Soviet Union was prone to excising uncomfortable history.
Today is Dr. Seuss’s birthday. He would be well over one hundred years old. His Birthday is observed every year with something called Read Across America Day but now this day is no longer going to be about Dr. Seuss as The National Education Association has pivoted away from him to a focus on diverse childrenundefineds books- Dr, Seuss has now become the victim of the cancel culture.
While President Joe Biden noted in his Read Across America Day presidential proclamation that “for many Americans, the path to literacy begins with story time in their school classroom” – and that the day was an important re-commitment to the goal of national reading comprehension – he differed from Presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama in leaving out Dr. Seussundefineds name.
Dr. Seuss is now becoming an unperson – much like the way Soviet Russia would erase people from the zeitgeist who did not agree with the political party’s actions.
Dr. Seuss Enterprises has now said it would stop printing six of his books because of racist and insensitive imagery.
The books in question are “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, McElligotundefineds Pool, On Beyond Zebra!, If I Ran the Zoo, Scrambled Eggs Super!, and The Catundefineds Quizzer.”
undefinedThese books portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong, undefined Dr. Seuss Enterprises told The Associated Pres in a Tuesday statement coinciding with the late authorundefineds birthday (real name Theodor Seuss Geisel). undefinedCeasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprisesundefined catalog represents and supports all communities and families, undefined the statement continued.
What is most confusing is how many of Seuss’s works would promote mostly liberal views.
The best-known example is probably The Lorax, a save-the-environment parable, but itundefineds hardly the only one. The Butter Battle Book is a Cold War satire, and the eponymous villain of Yertle the Turtle is meant to echo the rise and fall of Adolph Hitler.
Nobody has to read Dr. Seuss if they donundefinedt want to. But it is worth remembering that his books were so popular with children in large part because of the crazy stories and funny pictures. Learning to read was very boring until The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham came along in the 1950s. Problematizing everything thatundefineds different, weird, or uncomfortable is again a prime example of how the thought police are alive and well – something that has been the subject of books like 1984 and Fahrenheit 451.
Obviously, these so-called racists and insensitive images were not a problem years ago.
Jesse Jackson read Green Eggs and Ham on Saturday Night Live in 1991 and six years ago, Michelle Obama read a Dr. Seuss book to school children to promote literacy.

However, many people believe that all of this started when former First Lady Melania Trump gifted Dr. Seuss books to a Cambridge, Massachusetts. elementary school.
Meanwhile, many have noted that Seuss actually wrote several anti-racism books which teach children to accept people who arenundefinedt like them, and that itundefineds ok to be different. The star Bellied Sneetches come to mind – it is probably the best allegory about racism that is out there for children to read.
This is beginning to feel like a provocation – when I read these crazy cancel culture issues, I wish there were names and faces that we could see – that way, we know who these imbecilic culture manipulators are and challenge them but most of these little things go unchallenged because those who are afraid of backing away from liberal zealots are the problem in this country.
We constantly hear of conservative zealots and maybe 30 years ago we would hear of school book burnings but it was something that they outgrew—now the spirit of the act is back and no one wishes to use it as an example of thought crime.
This type of activity seems to be a very real updates version of Fahrenheit 451 written by Ray Bradbury.
Collective cultural memory suggests that Fahrenheit 451 is about censoring books, mainly because of plot elements involving book burning, and the fact that book memorization is treated as a sign of rebellion, and probably all the times Ray Bradbury himself talked about McCarthyism, and how the burning of books in Nazi Germany inspired the story.
However, Bradbury was really obsessed with the encroachment of technology, especially television, on the tradition of the written word. Bradbury positions the burning of books as a symptom of what’s happened to society, not the cause — he’s much more interested in a future where we see the erosion of critical thinking and imagination caused by society’s consumption of media and falling prey to its indoctrination and programming.
In the story, the government is not the villain – we are!
The people were encouraged to censor and police each other—the question is who is pushing this agenda and why are people not questioning the motive behind it.
People today are being 451’ed – taken down in a mob like frenzy by people who believe that they are part of some master morality club.
Bradbury makes clear that the censoring of books wasn’t imposed on the people of his future dystopia by a brutal totalitarian government, but rather by the people themselves, as they sought to avoid uncomfortable thoughts and disturbing concepts.
The New Normal must have with it a “new morality.”
Fredrich Nietzsche called what is happening the, “Master and Slave Morality.”
Master morality values pride and power, while slave morality values things like kindness, empathy, and sympathy. Master morality weighs actions on good or bad consequences unlike slave morality, which weighs actions on a scale of good or evil intentions.
The Liberal Resistance now believes that they should implement a master morality that most of them do not adhere to.
They love to impose it – they love to enforce it, but in most cases they do not practice what they preach.
Meanwhile the slaves who have kindness, empathy, and sympathy are trampled and destroyed.
This social warrior outrage machine needs to be shut down or there will be more people that will be erased by the thought police and no one will come out unscathed.
This fake outrage is destroying social cohesion and is counter-intuitive to a creative and intelligent society.
