NEWS COLLECTIVE

It has taken a while to pick up steam, but now it is official, according to mainstream media. 17 year old kids can now be arbiters of unquestionable truth about people who own guns. The President of the United States is secretly a psychopathic criminal that needs to be impeached and Vladimir Putin’s Russia is now the equivalent of Nazi Germany.

The terrifying thing is that there are people who believe these statements to be true and if I may be so bold as to say this, the irony that mainstream news sources can peddle this outrageous information while attacking the most outrageous conspiracy theories makes my head spin and has me worried about what history will say about the times we live in.

Daily we are treated to the smug and self-righteous faces who, in one breath, compare Putin to Hitler, before proceeding to compare Russia to Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union and the Russian Empire simultaneously.

We are now told that the young pundits who speak for the students involved in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School now have money and lawyers to back up lawsuits, boycotts against anyone who finds them overblown and malignant.

To paraphrase Franz Kafka, “It is not necessary to accept everything as true, one must only accept it as necessary – thus, lying turns into a universal principle.” I would only add that believing in lies turns people’s brains to mush, rendering them easily exploited by the liars.

Today, a well-known media outlet apparently attempted to declare war on CNN; however, what happened proved to those who don’t trust the media at all that every news cast is scripted and that the media is just as guilty as social media for parroting news stories and having an agenda.

Sinclair Broadcast Group encouraged their dozens of stations across the country aired video promotions in the past few weeks in which their local on-air news hosts voice concerns about “the troubling trend of irresponsible, one-sided news stories plaguing our country.” The anchors then go on to say that many media outlets are publishing “fake stories” and pushing agendas.

Left-leaning news outlets are now saying that this is evidence of state run media.

Conspiracy theorists, at least people like me have pointed out that all media outlets have agendas and that objectivity in media has been lost for some time.

Many times I have stated that the mainstream media has talking points which are arranged in order to push an agenda; however, what Sinclair media has done is shown us that while every local broadcast decrying mainstream agendas appears unique, it is simply scripted propaganda which shows there is something definitely wrong with the media today — this scripted reminder that they deliver the facts is signaling the media itself is about to implode.

Democratic lawmakers and media critics condemned the company for thinly veiled editorializing that, they said, promoted President Trump’s attacks on the news media.

I was always told that the winners were the authors of history – now I worry that it will be the liars that will write history.

What we are seeing on television and what is being reflected by the media is the rough draft of history. There are many highly paid reporters and anchors out there being paid off to further the task of conducting psychological operations to shape culture and in turn, provide history with cherished myths and lies that will be forever embedded in the hearts and minds of the people who do not take the time to use critical thinking.

Albert Einstein once said that “Private capital tends to become concentrated in few hands, partly because of competition among the capitalists, and partly because technological development and the increasing division of labor encourage the formation of larger units of production at the expense of smaller ones. The result of these developments is an oligarchy of private capital the enormous power of which cannot be effectively checked even by a democratically organized political society. This is true since the members of legislative bodies are selected by political parties, largely financed or otherwise influenced by private capitalists who, for all practical purposes, separate the electorate from the legislature. The consequence is that the representatives of the people do not in fact sufficiently protect the interests of the underprivileged sections of the population. Moreover, under existing conditions, private capitalists inevitably control, directly or indirectly, the main sources of information (press, radio, education). It is thus extremely difficult, and indeed in most cases, quite impossible for the individual citizen to come to objective conclusions and to make intelligent use of his political rights.”

Einstein was obviously ahead of his time.

Those in power are well aware of the limitations of the human brain. When people are overloaded with new information, they tend to rely on less-than-ideal coping mechanisms to distinguish good from bad, and end up privileging popularity over quality.

In other words, Sinclair Media called out CNN and MSNBC for their bias and is now being accused of state news tactics.

Democratic Representative Adam Schiff tweeted today:

“Local news stations now required by Sinclair Broadcasting to parrot the talking points of the President, moving America one step closer to its own version of state run media. And another freedom is assailed under this Administration.”

It is like Schiff wants you to believe that the President twisted Sinclair Broadcasting’s arm.

What is happening is that local broadcasting outlets are getting tired of having to work harder to earn the public trust locally –and that national news outlets are delivering agendas rather than news – it is local news declaring war on CNN.

In Kentucky, Amy McGrath, a Democratic candidate for the state’s sixth congressional district, tweeted she was pulling campaign ads from the Lexington, Ky., Sinclair-owned station and would ask other Democratic congressional candidates to refuse to buy campaign advertising from Sinclair stations. The “right-wing script,” she said on Twitter, “eerily mimics the propaganda efforts that authoritarian regimes often use to control the media in their own country.”

Once again, if a representative wants to call out a media outlet, calling it “State Media;” perhaps they should have woke up a long time ago when President Clinton enacted the Telecom Act — a law that virtually eliminated dissenting voices against his Presidency.

The act, signed into law on February 8, 1996, was essentially bought and paid for by corporate media lobbies.

The negative impact of the law cannot be overstated. The law, which was the first major reform of telecommunications policy since 1934, is widely considered to be one of the three or four most important federal laws of this generation.

The act dramatically reduced important Federal Communications Commission regulations on cross ownership, and allowed giant corporations to buy up thousands of media outlets across the country, increasing their monopoly on the flow of information in the United States and around the world.

About 90 percent of the country’s major media companies are owned by six corporations.

The Telecommunications Act of 1996 is not merely a regrettable part of history. It serves as a stern warning about what is at stake in the future. In a media world that is going through a massive transformation, media companies have dramatically increased efforts to wield influence in Washington, with a massive lobbying presence and a steady dose of campaign donations to politicians in both parties with the goal of allowing more consolidation, and privatizing and co-modifying the internet.

This is why the mainstream media has declared war on social media.

This issue has not been central in the 2016 presidential election. But it is deeply concerning that, of all the presidential candidates running in 2016, the Big Media lobby has chose to back Hillary Clinton. Now that she has lost the election, the media outlets that supported her have declared war on the political right wing and to anyone else that questions the media’s credibility.

The media that backed Hillary Clinton is now using disinformation as a tactic to discredit critics of an obvious agenda.

The majority of Americans prefers their bias over truth and again with the way the media and how information is distributed short attention spans take in a deluge of rapid-fire headlines given by good looking news reporters which results in an epidemic of beliefs that are based in disinformation.

Many of the mainstream networks have now vilified social media. Social media has responded with censorship.

Again, censorship will have a huge impact on contemporary history and cultural memory.

The media has a tendency to dismiss outright any discrepancy or malign anyone who dares to question the narrative – the media has not only coined the term “Fake News” as a pejorative but conspiracy theorist or conspiracy theory are terms that are now becoming synonymous with “Fake News” which means that if everything is fake or if the media says that certain discrepancies are fake, then Fake History is not too far off.

The reason why fake news is not conspiracy theory is because fake news is a weaponized deliberate lie in pursuit of a political goal.

The media will have you believe that conspiracy theories are lies made in order to cause of disenchantment with democracy, but rather disenchantment with democracy is what leads to conspiracy theories. Conspiracy theories are the symptom of a deeper malaise at the heart of our society.

When the term “conspiracy theory” is used to shutdown any and all questioning of the proposed narrative, then it is only natural that people keep these thoughts to themselves.

Each of us is on a spectrum somewhere between the poles of rational and irrational. We all have hunches we can’t prove and superstitions that make no sense.

However, it is a sick psychological operation that coerces the public by intimidating them and shaming them for having suspicion and doubt about what they are hearing from their political leaders.

If we are being told that we are living in times of too many conspiracy theories then perhaps it is because we live in times where the average American is tired of being an outsider because political and economic exclusion.

When the mainstream media and politicians declare that what is inconvenient information is fake news or conspiracy theory, then in the future, I can guarantee you that intellectual freedom will be shamed and eventually shut down.

We believe that the government and its co-conspirators are hiding all sorts of monstrous and shocking truths from us, concerning assassinations, extraterrestrials, the 9/11 attacks, the dangers of vaccines, and so much more.

The seeds of doubt have been planted by the powerful who have lost control of the narrative – what is true what is false and what they declare to be reality.

Often, when prominent individuals suggest that their political opponents are engaged in nefarious activities, they hedge by saying they are merely attempting to raise questions that should be considered — a way, experts say, of starting conspiracy theories.

It is said that this type of hedging is being done in social media and maybe there is a bit of the hedging of possibility, but the media should set a higher standard by not hedging their stories and serving up their own conspiracy theories because for most of America, the media is the final say on everything.

If the media is fighting like hell to discredit a story – they must have something that they don’t want you to know.

For example, if the mainstream media had not addressed the internet conspiracy theory that David Hogg, Emma Gonzales were paid actors and not students—the issue would have been left on the internet to die and disappear when the fad of it all wore off.

Furthermore, the media exploited it and made it an emotional cudgel to harden the resolve of their anti-gin agenda. The media asked “How can the conspiracy theorists be so heartless as to accuse these poor kids of being actors.” It is as if that all people who consider conspiracy theory are heartless people with blood on their hands.

It is the same tactic that student David Hogg uses on anyone who questions his motives.

There are plenty of other students that were involved with the shooting, but they don’t seem to have agents peddling their appearances, or a reserved seat at the Emmy awards.

They don’t have lawyers and followers that can organize a boycott against another mainstream news outlet, nor do they have a way to give an opposing opinion about what happened.

The story only leans to one side, and if it tilts another direction is propped up as conspiracy theory to be ridiculed. What the media is doing is that they have a script that includes the controlled demolition of social discourse.

We have passed through the looking glass and down the rabbit hole. America is being forced into becoming a mutated version of the Borg form Star Trek – it would be more convenient for them to breed a hive mind.

I wish I had a magic wand and that everyone would realize while conspiracy theories can be false or misleading the mainstream media now has now fallen into a pattern of purposeful and coordinated efforts to:

Manipulate the data that supports the claims of deep state operatives and former CIA operatives that are now reporting in newsrooms across the country. Not to disclose public doubt about whether or not a story they report is true.

Suppress evidence that contradicts the hypothesis of either the extreme right or the extreme left wing depending on political leanings of the news organization.

Disguise supposition and speculation as facts. Suppress opposition by squeezing dissenting out of the conversation.

Normally, disclosure of fraudulent behavior on this scale would cause news editors to fire individuals that push political punditry.

However, now it seldom happens. News casters will more than likely be fired for sexual impropriety at the office rather than for any story of fact they manipulated for political goals.

It can be said that what the media is doing is a form of ideological terrorism. Those in the news chairs aren’t killing anyone but they are using emotional arguments to further a particular political goal of their financial providers.

Once again, the mainstream media is being forced to confront this charade we are calling the political process. Those who are still participating and cheering on the circus are becoming useful idiots for the system. I have warned time and time again that the unraveling and exposure of the corruption and double standard in politics is revealing the entire exercise is rigged, bought and paid for.

Call me demoralizing if you want but the truth is being revealed now in a not so subtle way and the revelations are not coming from the framed narrative that people like to call “credible mainstream news.”

The internal dynamic which is being presented in the mainstream bracketed media is that anyone who questions their Newspeak; any outspoken independent reporter or activist, or even a hacker who holds politicians accountable, is a target that should be maligned and viewed as a tinfoil hat wearing crank.

However, now we are seeing the media eating itself –and those who have used it to spread their agendas are also being called out with their snide remarks about just what is and isn’t fake news.

Changing worldviews has always been one of the ways societies grow and change, and has been at the root of every major social shift in human history. In the past, however, such shifts took place infrequently, and humanity had the luxury of adjusting to them over the course of centuries.

Now with technology it seems that the manufactured consent can be had in the aftermath of trauma and it is imperative that we review all of the details of an event after the initial shock has ceased.

There are no crime scene investigations into the violation of cognitive resonance. These crimes have been committed over time and as we see now in our history they are devastating to our world view. A positive, functional modern world view has to be found now because we are losing our ability to think for ourselves and make decisions without repercussions.

You can blame it all on social media, but the mainstream media had a head start is shaping public opinion for the “state.”
