THE GROUND ZERO INCIDENT
I must admit that the events of the June 20th broadcast has me a bit mystified. For those who heard the events that transpired that night I have to tell you that what happened was not a publicity stunt or a theatrical set up. What happened was very real and at the moment we are looking into the strange reports of a power failure and possible UFO sighting over the West Hills that overlook downtown Portland. For those not familiar with the Portland skyline, the West hills are where the main transmitter for all of the Alpha Radio stations exists.
The show began with a strange call from a man who stated that he was seeing a blue orb following him in his truck. The story sounded farfetched enough and an unbelievable beginning to a show. I asked him to send photos and he claimed that he tried but I never received them. I do not know if the man “Blaine” was really having an incident or if he thought that his story would enhance the feel of the show. Either way the whole thing kicked things off with a strange beginning.
My intention of the show was to talk about Ancient astronauts in preparation for other shows in the coming week. I never got to the main topic because I chose to air a recording of the 1977 Ashtar Command broadcast incident that took place in the United Kingdom. The broadcast that many people believe to be a hoax but have not been able to prove the validity of such hoax was aired twice on Ground zero once at 9:40 PM and again at 10;40 pm. The transcript of the message is as follows:
“This is the voice of Vrillon a representative of the Ashtar Galactic Command, speaking to you. For many years you have seen us as lights in the skies. We speak to you now in peace and wisdom as we have done to your brothers and sisters all over this, your planet Earth.
“We come to warn you of the destiny of your race and your world so that you may communicate to your fellow beings the course you must take to avoid the disasters which threaten your world, and the beings on our worlds around you. This is in order that you may share in the great awakening, as the planet passes into the New Age of Aquarius. The New Age can be a time of great peace and evolution for your race, but only if your rulers are made aware of the evil forces that can overshadow their judgments.
“Be still now and listen, for your chance may not come again. For many years your scientists, government and generals have not heeded our warnings; they have continued to experiment with the evil forces of what you call nuclear energy. Atomic bombs can destroy the Earth, and the beings of your sister worlds, in a moment. The wastes from atomic power systems will poison your planet for many thousands of your years to come.
“We, who have followed the path of evolution for far longer than you, have long since realized this – that atomic energy is always directed against life. It has no peaceful application. Its use, and research into its use, must be ceased at once, or you all risk destruction. All weapons of evil must be removed.
“The time of conflict is now past. The race of which you are a part may proceed to the highest planes of evolution if you show yourselves worthy to do this. You have but a short time to learn to live together in peace and goodwill.
“Small groups all over the planet are learning this, and exist to pass on the light of the dawning New Age to you all. You are free to accept or reject their teachings, but only those who learn to live in peace will pass to the higher realms of spiritual evolution.
“Hear now the voice of Vrillon , a representative of the Ashtar Galactic Command, speaking to you. Be aware also that there are many false prophets and guides operating in your world. They will suck your energy from you – the energy you call money and will put it to evil ends giving you worthless dross in return.
“Your inner divine self will protect you from this. You must learn to be sensitive to the voice within that can tell you what is truth, and what is confusion, chaos and untruth. Learn to listen to the voice of truth which is within you and you will lead yourselves on to the path of evolution.
“This is our message to our dear friends. We have watched you growing for many years as you too have watched our lights in your skies. You know now that we are here, and that there are more beings on and around your Earth than your scientists admit.
“We are deeply concerned about you and your path towards the light and will do all we can to help you. Have no fear, seek only to know yourselves, and live in harmony with the ways of your planet Earth. We of the Ashtar Galactic Command thank you for your attention. We are now leaving the plane of your existence. May you be blessed by the supreme love and truth of the cosmos.”
This broadcast disturbed a few people and we had a mountain of calls of others demanding that the broadcast be repeated. We had a ton of callers not wanting to be on the air. Many just frightened by what they were hearing. I decided that after about 30 calls to air the sequence again at 10:40 PM reminding listeners that the Ashtar broadcast was audio only and it interrupted the evening news in the UK and lasted into the next programming of cartoons for the children. It was superimposed over the voice of the newsreader, Ivor Mills. No less than five transmitters were hijacked and shut down simultaneously, the hacking spread over great distances, and the Independent Broadcasting Authority were not even aware that the message was overriding their signal; as the transmitters would have been switched off immediately. Possibly, this was because the source of the overriding signal was not terrestrial in nature. Remember this incident happened long before the internet, long before hacking, and long before any incident of satellite hijacking.
After the second broadcast of the Ashtar message on KXL there was stir in the Ground zero radio online chartroom. A number of listeners were saying that my broadcast was fading in and out. It eventually dropped off and there was nothing left but static. When the station goes off the air we receive an alarm telling us to fire it up again or to notify an engineer to fire up the transmitter again. Then the phones went wild again, this time to notify us that the show had gone off the air. I spoke with Dave king my producer and Bryan Bennett my phone screener and we had no explanation for the shutdown of the show. I was texted by friends saying that perhaps four other stations had shut down as well including sister station KUPL.
It was a strange coincidence. There were reports that there was working being done on the tower earlier in the day and also reports of a power failure in the west hills.
A listener named Mollie had reported that as she was on Interstate 5 going south during the show when she spotted a bright light shoot up from the ground and moved west towards the hills.
Another listener, Travis claimed that the digital display on his radio moved on its own to another station. He said it spooked him.
While there may be all kinds of logical explanations for all that transpired that night, the coincidence of an alleged alien broadcast shutting down 5 TV stations in the UK in 1977 and a repeat broadcast happening before 5 or more radio stations shut down because of power failure seems very peculiar. It smacks of something experienced in the twilight zone.
